ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Developed for existing workers in the travel and tourism industry, this program provides an opportunity to advance your skills and knowledge in leadership, sales, service, e-business and finance within this industry.

Maybe you come from an airline company, work for a travel agency, work for an inbound tour operator, wholesale tour operator or a government tourism board. No matter what your industry experience or background, this program will cater for a range of management roles within the travel and tourism industry.

Delivered online, you will have the opportunity to network with other like-minded people involved in the travel and tourism sector in Australia.

DURATION

The training comprises of twenty-three units, which will be completed according to a group schedule over an eighteen month period.  It is recommended that the learning and assessment of each unit should be completed over a three week period.

LEARNING DELIVERY

The training program is delivered through online learning with activities that allow skills and knowledge to be applied in a workplace. The learning will take place in groups of 7 – 12 so there is an opportunity to learn from, and be motivated by your peers.

You will have access to online reading, videos and self-paced workbooks. To help prepare you for the assessment tasks you will have an opportunity to complete many practice activities and post them in an online forum for peer review.

You will also be invited to web forums every fortnight, where your industry expert trainer/assessor will present a one hour summary of key learning points for the unit of competency; provide information about the upcoming assessment and allow you an opportunity to share experiences, and discuss issues.

ASSESSMENTS

Each unit will comprise of 2-3 assessments which will vary in type and duration.

TRAINER AND ASSESSORS

You will have access to a trainer/assessor, via email and phone at any time within business hours, to support your learning. They will be available to answer questions, clarify learning and assessment content and provide additional learning resources. They will mark assessments and provide ongoing feedback via the learner portal.

Every trainer/assessor is qualified in TAE4011 or higher, and an industry qualification or equivalent competencies.

Developed through an extensive understanding of the skills, abilities and commitment required to achieve long-term success in travel and tourism, this program will have you learning and honing valuable sales and service skills that deliver exceptional results.

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for students to be competent in a range of roles in the Travel and Tourism sector. These roles encompass travel, tour operations, marketing, product development, reservations and sales.

DURATION

The training comprises of 19 units which have been grouped into 10 skill sets and is conducted over a 10 month period part-time. It is recommended that the learning and assessment of each unit should be completed over a 4 – 6 week period.

LEARNING DELIVERY

The training program is delivered through a combination of classroom training based at a suitable training venue in your state, facilitated web workshops and online learning with activities that allow skills and knowledge to be applied in a workplace. The classroom learning will take place in groups of 7 – 12 so there is an opportunity to learn from, and be motivated by your peers.

You will participate in 7 group-facilitated sessions that are spaced over the 10 months where you will share ideas and insights, network, as well as gain access to coaching, mentoring and inspiration.   During these classroom sessions your industry expert trainer/assessor will present the core and elective units in a blended learning format.  In these one day workshops we will also provide information about the upcoming assessment tasks and allow you an opportunity to share experiences, and discuss issues.

The online components includes access to self paced online reading, videos and workbooks as well as 10 scheduled live facilitated web workshop sessions with our industry expert trainers.

You’ll leave with increased awareness, knowledge and understanding of the latest developments and best practices currently at work in the industry. It will be up to you to put them to work for you!
